Don't you just love this party? Everything's so fancy, and there's some kind of hot cheese over there.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

megan,

I'm sad to report that the French for stress is in fact "le stress".

Perhaps the French were not acquainted with stress until they had to deal with English?

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Perhaps the French were not acquainted with stress until they had to deal with English?

Then they would've just call "stress" "le English", no?

Shir, I think they've assigned enough bad things to the English that they went with "le stress" to make it clear WHICH English bad thing they were referring to.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

lisa, I DO love that. Especially the sushi pendant.

Sad that they wanted the "pretty" little girl so they milli-vanilla'd the singer.

I like the Potty Mouth necklace.

Also, what is wrong with me that Milli Vanilli isn't my reference for that kind of thing, Martha Wash is?

Art Crawl!!!

Comcast switched Oxygen from one number to another one and therefore, it did not record the cross-country. Thank goodness for the live-video archive.

Didn't catch other Olympics yesterday due to v. busy tivo, so busy that it dumped the Closer before I got to watch it. Annoying.

Coding and Sleeping

As I have been listening to Dune on my commute, I've been struck by the parallels that The Wheel of Time series has to Dune. I'm guessing that Robert Jordan must have been influenced by Dune a fair bit. I gave up on The Wheel of Time for a variety of reasons, but listening to Dune made me think of it.
