as for Svetlana, i loved her. i'm sad that we won't be seeing her compete this year. in fact, i was just talking about her elsewhere and was linked to this. ha! love that expression. so Svetlana.
That entire article about Khorkina is hysterical. Gotta love how she was trying to talk her way into being called champion.
This Olympics is just boggling my mind. First, a 41-year-old swimmer and now, a 33-year-old gymnast.
I heard it as "Szechuan heat", especially with "if you're in the mood for spicy shellfish".
Yeah, I was just coming to post about that 33-year-old gymnast! And that was a really great vault, too.
I'm confused! Did one of the Chinese gymnasts have on tights as well as a leotard?
Yeah, that was interesting to hear in the commentary -- that your body can only take so many repetitions, and when you start full out at age 3, you just get used up faster. That's ugh.
Gymnastics is rough. It hurts even when it's done perfectly. And you often don't do it perfectly, and then just practice through the injuries.
And the leotards magically stay in place.
And I was wondering the same thing, Kat! Also, what the heck was on that Romanian's knee?
Several of the gymnasts looked like they were wearing tights. I don't remember noticing that before.
