Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

Art Crawl!!!

Comments I've read from cyclists makes it seem like the humidity was more of an issue than the air quality.

The dresses of the women holding the country name benners are gorgeous.

So true. But it must have been so uncomfortably hot.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Male gymnasts do have weird bodies. The hugely developed upper body thing they've got going on, with the arms that are never quite able to touch their sides, and the fact that they are so freaking short certainly adds to the oddness.

And the greyness of Beijing surprised me too. I figured the poor air quality would be similar to L.A., but it's significantly worse-looking. No wonder people were choosing not to compete certain things under those conditions.

Dara Torres amazes me. 41 years old and competing in the Olympics as a swimmer, something you think of as being a twenty-year-old's sport.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The dresses of the women holding the country name benners are gorgeous.

And especially awesome when I turned it on to boxing earlier -- they really classed up the joint.

I was a swimmer. Not a competitive one, but for a period of a year or three, I swam at least 2 hours a day, mostly crawl. I'm already wide in the shoulders, and hoo boy. Got wider. Boobs got even bigger as the pecs increased, like I needed that. I turned into a goddamned triangle. I was doing it for stress release and ultimately started fucking up my shoulders in the process, so I had to back off.

I look at the professionals with their sculpted bods and laugh. That was never me, but I get how awesome it is to flow through the water.I miss swimming.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We were just checking out her bio! "It says she was born in 1967. That's gotta be a mistake. ...Hang on, she competed at Seoul. The hell?"
