Happy birthday, Aimee!
I am having a rough day. We are putting flooring down in Isaac's room and he's freaking out over the change and throwing temper tantrumS (as in plural) over any and everything. And I was going to take them to a friend's house tonight but now DH is running late with his errands so I'm going to be running late to dinner. Sigh.
That reminds me, I need to remember to Netflix The Rockford Files. I saw an interview with James Garner on TCM last night (one of the few actors that I end up liking more whenever I learn more about him in real life), and had this upwelling feeling of nostalgic joy as soon as the theme song started playing.
I *love* Rockford.
They're up to season 6.
Season 6 is out all the time, but...
Argh, Burrell-- hate times like that.
Watching the Olympics, I have my new favorite-- Raj Bhavsar on the Men's Gymnastic's team. Two times in a row thinking he's going to make the team, everyone telling him he's going to make the team and he doesn't make the team, only making it at the last minute this year due to Paul Hamm pulling out and now, he's just kicked ass on the rings.
Dude, I can so relate. Plus, one of my favorite characters I ever wrote, named-- Raj.
I am still catching up on the stuff from this afternoon. Roadrace.
God, watching the gymnastics makes my hands and feet sweat! Back to The Wire -- much more relaxing.
I will never forget the one meet I went to in college to see a friend -- it was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen! They just fling their little bodies around those tiny pieces of wood, and somehow it mostly works out.
Also, Raj is adorable.
That he is-- and pretty eyes. < /shallow>
Oh, hon, you're adorable too, but you know the shallow tag never closes.
