And hardass keeps talking as I'm watery eyed at the artistry and intent. But still watery eyed. I like ideals and art.

They probably have someone giving them cues. Just like with a drill team, even though everyone knows all the moves, you still have to have someone call out when to start each new pattern so it doesn't get too out of whack.

OK the globe is really damned cool.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Susan, I'd be happy to - but I should warn that I might have to hop offline before I can get to any questions tonight. Maybe post questions in GWW so I can find them easier than spotting them in mid-watch'n'post?

Wow, everytime I think they can't get more awesome, they pull something else out of the hat. Damn, that globe thing is cool.

“Not dead yet!”

What the HELL has Sarah B. done to her face? Every time I see her, it gets more and more frozen into some bizarre mask-thing.

Big Globe Thing with vaguely athletic people on it looks -- Nike? McDonalds? -- commercial-ish. But the Big Globe Thing when it came up and had abstract patterns was blowing me right the fuck away, so I'm prone to changing my mind at a second's notice.

And then the kid pictures! I'm officially weepy. I am a sucker for global unity spin.

Oh, it doesn't have to be tonight. I'm through that scene now, and I'm in full-on just-get-THROUGH-this-damn-thing mode (AKA "this may be the crappiest thing I've ever written, but that's why God made rewrite"). So I'm probably not going to look at it closely until sometime next month when I do my first editing pass (timeline, continuity, and stuff like the swordfight scene I didn't research at the time).

I still think the fireworks and air pollution=bad, but the way they set them up to coordinate with the lines and design of the Birdnest really, really worked.
