A lawyer friend of mine represented a girl in an ADA lawsuit against his alma mater. The president is a dick.
"Whether or not it’s fundamental for [disabled students] to get into that student union annex or that it’s fundamentally important for them to obtain an education, I would question that,” Hebert said in the deposition, which is now making the rounds on Youtube. “I’m not sure I would regard it as a high priority.”
Oh, that's classy. Fucking people.
On the flip side of "day people," I just heard about someone I know who is quitting her job and keeping her day care situation. She will have plenty of time to do stuff around town!
Yeah, I'd say more than half my vacation time is spent bumming around the city I live in and desperately avoiding housework that I could be doing instead. Museum visits! Daytime movies! Lunch at places that could take more than an hour!
I just heard about someone I know who is quitting her job and keeping her day care situation.
That seems economically improbable. Day care is not exactly cheap.

Oh, to have been a reporter present with a live mike and the opportunity to ask "So you're saying that you don't regard the educational services provided by your university to be fundamentally important? Does that mean that your alumni would do better to make their charitable contributions to an institution that does place a high priority on providing a good education to its students?"
I'm shocked by how many people are just wandering around the Mission during the middle of a weekday.
There's also the fact that a lot of employers here (especially in SOMA and the Mission) are casual about work hours, as long as you get your shit done. So, for example, you can take that 3 hour lunch at Tres Agaves. You could even possibly count it as working, especially if your company's likely to get mentioned in Valleywag.
That and creative fields tend to have casual work hours too.
I'd be day person right now, except I'm spending my days in the house. Hermits don't count.

Her husband is apparently doing Quite Well.
I just heard from an out-based coworker that when she calls me, I sound filled with dread! I feel so bad, because what I actually am is relieved! I will be much perkier on the phone with her moving forward.
