Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I feel that being Matt and Barb is excellent company. I just wish the people who hang out outside my office window would feel the same -- they seem to think that just because there's a single uninsulated pane of glass separating them from the person sitting four feet away, that said person doesn't hear them (a) recounting their drunken weekend exploits (b) breaking up in alternately screaming and begging for forgiveness ways or (c) calling mom for money.

(Ah, yes, I'm so looking forward to the students coming back.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Fred Pete!

I'm at home waiting for the electrician. Some of the outlets in the kitchen stopped working.(Which has led to the fridge being in the middle of the kitchen so it can be plugged into a functioning outlet. Very annoying)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I HATE having anyone else overhear my phone conversations, even if they're the most boring check-in calls imaginable with my mom.

I feel that way, but my phone voice is terrible on a normal phone; on a cell phone it so much worse because I have a hard time with the smallness of them (and not trusting the microphone).

I blame my dad's loss of hearing as I was growing up for not being aware of how loud my voice is. Even with a hearing aid, one needed to shout more often than not.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I spent my lunch break watching the Cubs/Astros game. Despite watching for almost an hour, only two innings were completed, because the Cubbies spent so much time at bat (as the Astros pitcher wasn't having the best day). Score was 6-1 after two.

Oklahoma is literally God and guns country.

An Oklahoma church canceled a controversial gun giveaway for teenagers at a weekend youth conference.

Windsor Hills Baptist had planned to give away a semiautomatic assault rifle until one of the event's organizers was unable to attend.

They are going to do the giveaway next year instead. You can't make this stuff up.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Perkins (and anyone else on the board), you're welcome to send any Hebrew-related question to me as well.

Thesis related - my roommate's computer is on HUJI server, so I have academic access to a lot of stuff, if and when needed.

Here to help, etc.
