Am sitting in darkened theater waiting
I am so helplessly 20th century. I'm still so deeply pleased and surprised and yay-technology whenever people post from anywhere that's not in-front-of-their-computer-at-home-or-work (carrying the electrons one by one, uphill both ways, in the snow and scorcher at the same time).
[Edit: thanks, Jen!]
I know what you mean. I resist posting that I'm posting - from a phone, you guys!! - every time I do it. Meanwhile I'm feeling all old s
I just got back from the shiny new Brooklyn IKEA. It's exactly like other IKEAs, but only 10 minutes away by subway! We now have 2 cute toy storage thingies and blackout curtains for D's room. At some point we shall return with a Zipcar and get a new media center (with locking doors) and some storage bin shelf things for D's closet. (We've decided it's long past time we turned his room into his room as opposed to the room where his crib is. It needs to be kid-ified.)
Holy crap, Jess. I was at the Ikea today, too!
(I didn't buy anything, though)
Ha, really? It's so huge I shouldn't be surprised we didn't run into each other. Also we were pretty much only in the kids' section and the cafe.
It's been a Red Hook weekend all over for me - on Friday I went to Fairway while I still had the rental car.
Jessica! Welcome back!
Um, not from Ikea. From Canada.
Nilly!
I was in Vegas with Lisah and Juliana and (very briefly) meara. It was much fun! eta: There are pictures! [link]
Less fun-- while I was out of town the balcony of the people one floor below and one apartment over from mine caught fire. Even more exciting? They were out of town too, as is the apartment manager.
This is definitely one of those things I am very glad I didn't know about until after it was over.
Perkins!
Was there any damage to your place? Where were the cats?
[Edit: oh, pictures!
I love how they both look like they're having so much fun.
Oh, and there are no pictures of *you*!]
Was there any damage to your place?
No, thank god, because I just went and looked more closely, and it was actually the balcony directly below mine, not one over. My balcony smells of smoke, but it doesn't seem to have had any damage. Considering both I and the people with the fire were gone, I feel incredibly lucky.
