Natter 60: Gone In 60 Seconds

Slight panic this morning: my sister took my camera, the one with all the pictures I took and didn't develop the last year (yes, I'm slow), including the ones from my trip to US, asked from a store to burn a CD with them so she'll be able to delete those pictures and use the camera (yes, as I explained her, she could do it on her own without paying anyone else).
So I tried to look at those pictures from the CD this weekend. It didn't worked on my parents' computer, but hey, almost nothing does.
I took the CD with me to my laptop in J-city. I tried to check now, and nada, computer thinks it's an empty CD.
I texted my sister, and trying not to panic. Most chances I'm doing something wrong.
Shir, yes, most chances are that there's a problem which is *not* the complete disappearance of all your pictures. Either the pictures are on the CD in a format the computer doesn't recognize, they weren't labeled properly, there's some little program that's missing - there are so many possibilities for what-could-go-wrong.
But! Even if you can't reach them now, they're there. The digital info is there. Even if it may take somebody with a bit more expertise to fish them out and lay them all right and proper, the data is there.
Also, did your sister delete them already from the camera?
I hope you're right. Will look into it tonight.
And I think so. I didn't check it myself so I can't be sure, but logic says that if she made sure they'll be on a CD, she deleted them from the camera.
Well, she could be just lazy human and postpone it to when she needs it.
But even so, deleting digital files is rarely (unless specifically requested, which requires special software) actually destroying the data. In many cases, more often than not, it's possible to retrieve it - or to pay a more-expert-with-computers to retrieve it.
Deep breaths. I hope you'll work it out.
Thanks.
And how's technology treating you these days?

I got the extension precisely because technology doesn't like me lately (in fact, your CD might have acted up just based on your knowing me - there were suggestions here lately to sell me as a sophisticated technological weapon, considering how computers began acting up and refusing to talk to anybody just because I was friends with their owners, who were trying to help me out).
I'm re-creating graphs manually, seeing as their files aren't being recognized or treated as corrupted.

Ouch. You have my sympathy.
Thanks.
I wish nobody could understand what the last few weeks have been like, in computer-behavior terms, so I'm sorry you now sorta somehow do.
Ugh to everything up to and including technology issues and loud parties. Since I didn't get online at all on Friday, I just dealt with some work emails and stuff and now feel kind of queasy about various situations. Ugh!
Luckily, I have a party to go to later!
In bizarre news, Nikki Blonsky (from Hairspray) and her family got into a physical fight in an airport with Bianca from ANTM and her family. [link] Seriously, people??
