t Waves to Beverly
I love it that you call me "roomie"! Yay. It's good to post with y'all (See? Second time! Third time - ice cream), even if it's because that's the only thing that manages to keep me working into the night without starting to make faces to my computer (and, um, seeing it make faces back at me).

They also smell deadlines.
In conclusion, this was a highly unhelpful post.
But it reminded me of that lovely Friday morning I spent at SF, with several of you who were also there attending some place like that, with those strange exotic names for the colors. Everybody seemed so relaxed and happy.
So, not so much an unhelpful post. Sorry.
Barb, I'd actually rec the Bliss spa in the W. Expensive, true, but near you and OMG how pampering are they? Sooooooo pampering. Nom.
For slightly less $$$, there's a good place in the Marina, and I have no issues with my $25-for-a-mani-pedi cheap place in NB.
on a whole different SF trip -- maybe the Halloween Of Debauchery? -- we went to a totally different pedi place with Deb.
Could that be the weekend of my visit?
Oh, and juliana comes through with actual knowledge.
And I just got a free ticket to Morrissey this Tuesday
Yay!
Remind me, do we currently have any Buffistas in or near Portland, OR? (I know Typo Boy isn't there anymore.) I'm going to be down there next weekend for the Willamette Writers Conference, and I'd love to have someone to meet for dinner one of the evenings.

Ooooh... yes! I might splurge for the pampering-- it's been such a wretched few months and I haven't had a pedi in FOREVER. I think I need a little pampering.

Isn't Cass in Portland?
(I only know the geography of the USA in terms of who's where, so please not to trust me as a data source).
Oh, wait - there's the Buffista Map.
Borrowing the internets at the bar. Fun thing I just did:
DJ: What is that smell? Is someone smoking a fucking clove?
CBB: I don't know. (Looks around)
DJ: ASHTRAY ON FIRE!
Guy at the next table: Oh my god! (Proceeds to pour his drink on it).
DJ: Yes! Pour alcohol on the fire, 'cause that's smart.
(Guy at the next table proceeds to throw the flaming ashtray into the trash can full of papery things and alcohol)
DJ: (Pointing emphatically at the cooler full of water) ICE WATER!!! ICE WATER!!!
END SCENE
-I should say, it ended well.
Oh, and Susan, I meant to respond to what you said earlier about having lunch with the romance writers and talking about writing slash--
Killed me. I giggled for most of the afternoon, imagining the facial expressions.

Oh lord. In my world, deadline = paper jam. It's eerie.
There's a fun place we went to during the SF2F,
The Lush Life Nail bar [link]
That's also where we took Suzi for the secret santa outing.
They let you bring in wine.
