Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ack, indeed. Best a.m. meeting ever.

Let us all endeavour to be early always from now on.

I am so still sleepy. Forgot to drink the tea while hot, and it's untemptingly warm. Forgot to eat the ice while very cold, and it's untemptingly clumped. I am Goldilocks and the three bears with a touch of the Princess and the pea.

yikes!

I'm going to take him to Tramonto's in Wheeling, which is the place that was featured in the final Chicago episode of Top Chef.

Ooh!!! Can't wait to hear the report!

Right now, it's looking like I need to take an alternate route home because the Wabash is closed at that intersection.

I myself am not much fond of flying bullets.

I like them much better when they are flying away from me. In such cases you could characterise me as quite fond, actually.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, beisbol-type people: is there an example of a men's game where a pitcher was about to get a no-hitter and the opposing team decided to let him?

I've never heard that. I have heard of a few occasions where a pitcher who was traded away served up a fat one to his ex-teammate because it would (a) get his average over .300 on the last day of the season, or (b) get him to a round number of home runs in a meaningless game.

Feh, the intersection is still reported as closed. Must take alternate annoying route. Probably just as well. Were it open, it'd probably be backed up with gawkers.

“Not dead yet!”

So, the Hub, being the darling that he is, is offering to pick up dinner for tonight seeing as with Nate not feeling well, we weren't able to go out on a date or anything like that.

(And boy howdy do I wish we had better delivery options around here than third-rate Chinese and Papa John's.)

Anyhow, choices are:

Mojo's: Memphis BBQ- Probably my favorite, but also the furthest from our house (meaning the onion rings, which rock, would have a good chance of getting a little soggy. *pouts*) But the dry rub ribs... *le sigh*

Vito's-- Really good Italian, middling distance from the house. Dynamite veal Francese and alla Rosa

Russo's-- Also really good Italian, not quite as much variety as Vito's, but right by the house.

Shannon's-- Irish pub food. Way good, but they don't do a lot of takeout, so stuff might be soggy if you bring it home.

Honestly, I'd be happy with pizza, but the man is determined to bring me home food.
