flea, what Ginger said. I'll add: enjoy it, rather than stress over it. My experience with having movers pack has been good, generally, and not having to pack my kitchen has been priceless. The first time the movers packed me I read War & Peace on the balcony while they worked.

All of it?
You have a lot of stuff.
You have a lot of stuff.
Ye gods, yes, I do.
I don't think I finished, but I generally figure I can read a novel at 80-100 pages per hour, so 1.5 days of packing . . .
You have a lot of stuff.

Pardon me, but who gave you those Manolos?
eta: ...that Iris knew she wanted to get her feet into right away.
I've had movers/packers twice--both paid for by the company. We've been very lucky. No problems and no losses. EAch time, though, someone is there to check off what they pack, so they seem more motivated when we're there. The very idea of packing my own shit makes me queasy inside.
Happy Birthday Dana and Ellie!
Pardon me, but who gave you those Manolos?
and I am eternally grateful

Just making sure I've got you in my eternal debt. ::rubs hands together gleefully & cackles::
Shoes are simple to pack because I keep them in boxes. The china and all the serving dishes, etc. - that's a bear.
Happy birthday, Dana!
You will have a present once the coffee kicks in and I can get both eyes open at the same time.
Happy birthday to Dana and Ellie!!
I think I'm going to run down to the cafeteria and see if they have any oatmeal left. They always make a batch in one of the soup serving cauldrons and have brown sugar and raisins available to add to it. Yum, hot oatmeal!
