Penis costume draws apology
SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (AP) — A judge has ordered a 19-year-old man to write an apology to the city of Saratoga Springs in New York for dressing in a penis constume at a high school graduation.
Calvin Morett had pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for dressing in a costume at the graduation at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. A video of his visit last month has appeared on YouTube.
The judge has also ordered Morett to pay to have the apology published in a local newspaper, pay court fees and perform 24 hours of community service.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday juliana!
My lab went out to lunch at Jaleo to say goodbye to the visiting scientist who's been working with us this year. Mmm, tapas.
Happy birthday, juliana!!
OMG, I am soooo sleepy. It's like I haven't been fully awake in more than two days (I spent most of yesterday soooo sleepy, too). I'm not working tonight, nor do I have to do laundry, so I might just go to bed really early to get some catch-up sleep.
Gotta love LOLcat captions that paraphrase Ghostbusters.
I want a t-shirt of this Kerfuffle Bunny with a caption that says...
Like the djinn of myth and legend, tommyrot...your wish is my command...

Oh, the other day I was so envious when I saw a guy with a Questionable Content t-shirt on the train. But a Kerfuffle Bunny t-shirt would be so much cooler....
Yay--I stayed a little late here at work to see if I could access Dr. Horrible from the office computer, and I could! Now I just have to make sure I pop in after working at the bookstore on Saturday to catch the finale.
Man, was that fun or what? Love the songs, especially Dr. Horrible's big finale in Act II.
I'm going to an Orioles game this weekend. First after living here almost 11 years.
I'll also be riding the light rail. For the first time ever.
t /car culture
(Actually, it's more that the public transit here largely sucks. Which is car culture too, but if it went where I go more conveniently most of the time, I'd use it. I live on a freaking subway line. That goes nowhere near work. I miss my Prague commutes.)
Oy, Baltimore public transport. Last time I went to trapeze, which generally requires a MARC from DC to Baltimore Penn Station, and then a light rail to Camden Yards (since the MARC from DC to Camden Yards only runs super early in the morning), they were doing "improvements" to the light rail which meant that it wasn't stopping at Penn Station. We had to walk to the U of Baltimore station and catch it there.
