That's one spunky little girl you've raised. I'm gonna eat her.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

People watch! Drink! Gamble!

And it's a Friday night in Natter!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Still awake. Why? Do not know.

Being awake late at night is boring. So far, I've watched two episodes of A Different World, read a bit of a book I've already read twice, and drank some chocolate soy milk.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That's such an awesome response, Allyson. I fear it may be lost on most of the dittoheads, but it could bring a couple to a slamming halt, I hope!

“Not dead yet!”

Allyson, that was an AMAZING response. Beautifully structured, eloquent, and yet clean and elegant and most importantly, completely from the heart.

Words, they are as powerful a weapon as anything else.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Allyson, your response was terrific. I hope some of the people who need to read it do so.

Also, please add me to the list of people who would like to help, if there's a way we can do so that you'd be comfortable accepting.

What are people doing?

I have a party to go to this afternoon, and I'll probably be seeing HellBoy II this evening. In between times I'll be reading The Expected One, by Kathleen McGowan, for my book group. I've only read a little of it, but so far it's bearing an unfortunate resemblance to a feminist version of The DaVinci Code, only with slightly fewer chase scenes. And feminist issues were the least of my problems with The DaVinci Code. But I'm hosting book group next Thursday, so I figure I should make a good faith attempt to finish the book.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet weekend here. Mostly gonna run errands and catch up on TiVo'd stuff. Maybe catch a movie tonight.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Complete randomosity:

Saturday afternoon babypicspam:

Enough hair for ponytails, sort of...

A hat that Jilli would approve of

Done today so far:

*Swept kitchen, hallway, bedroom
*Excavated my misc. clothing pile in the corner of the front bedroom
*Weeded out some outgrown Matilda clothes for my friend's daughter Ruby
*Took down the trash (including the diaper pail, nast) and recycling

Still to do before leaving for the mammogram:

*Re-vacuum everything
*Take down and dispose of the irreparably torn, dust-catching canopy on the bed

Hec just called - Emmett's all-star team is now the district champions, having won the last game against Alameda (who beat them 5-4 on Thursday, whom they then beat 15-0 last night, and who went down to final defeat today 5-0). Matilda went with Hec to cheer Emmett on (thus all the stuff-doing above on my part), but ended up napping through most of it.

And in non-baby/chore/mememe-related stuff, Allyson, you are so loving and loyal and such a passionate, eloquent writer. What you wrote was so powerful; like all the other Buffistas, I hope so much that the people who really need to hear your words have had the chance to read them and let it sink in.
