See, that's where beer is so handy. Individual serving sizes!
Yeah, I think that's a large part of why I drink more beer than wine. Well, that and the price differential. $14 for a decent bottle that serves like, three people (or, one, because normally I am home alone), vs. $8 for a sixpack (which I can drink whenever I want)...hmmm....Even though I like the taste of wine more.
I should brew some iced tea to have in the fridge. I like having flavored options around, that are not highly caloric. I made some iced coffee yesterday, to have around...
While I was waiting for a greenlight on the way home, a butterfly flew through the open window of my car! Never had that happen before!
On the 4th of July, 2002, I was in NYC with Trudy (and for part of the day, Scola), and it was so hot that we fled to a movie theatre to see the Powerpuff Girls.
Jesus, I remember this 4th of July in Boston- so hot, I could barely breathe. How did I solve this you ask? By drinking lots and lots of beer and other icy alcoholic beverages.
That did not do me right I tell you what.
fizzy water , tea , or other herbal infusions. are my favorites - plain water makes me thirstier sometimes. I need something slightly more acidic. Not much of a soda drinker-- and not crazy about artificial sweeteners.
We have had some of the new boxed wines. Way better than they used to be. and they really do keep. Not great wines, but tasty.
That did not do me right I tell you what.
If I had had alcohol that day, I probably would have ended up in the ER. My internal thermostat is very picky; apparently it prefers a narrow range of 70-80 degrees. And humidity? It doesn't like that shit AT ALL.
IIRC, Jess, didn't your DH get heat exhaustion that day, too?
I don't remember the exact year, but that sounds right. I was out of town for some reason (down in DC with my parents?) and he called me the next day to let me know he'd spent all night in the ER.
Seriously, it took me an hour to figure out that I need to order baked goods, coffee and juice for 12.
I am Steph wrt heat.
Also, longnecks are the safest thing to be drinking from when one is in a situation where one needs to be watching out for dosing.
Yikes! I don't think I've ever thought about that in a bar.
It's more prevalent at shows, though M did recently have to deal with a girl getting dosed at his bar. (A baseball bat got involved really quickly.) People really do suck, and often.
Eeep. The has risen high in the sky and is beating down on our cube farm. Everybody is hunched under their umbrella squintywise trying to read their screens.
If I had had alcohol that day, I probably would have ended up in the ER.
I did try to drink some water through the day, which meant that I didn't die. But I did acquire an incredibly nasty UTI as a result.
It was too hot to stay sober! Jesus. I remember going to a party that my cousin/roommate's boyfriend was having with his 5 roommates and just being so hot it was like an out of body experience.
I definitely remember the summer of 2002 because that's when Tom and I first hooked up. That's why I'm so sure of the year. Tom was *not* at this sketch-ass twenty-something frat style party, because he's no fool!
