Oh, vile and evil banks. Why do I need to come to you and can't do the things I need to do online/over the phone?
Me and banks is pretty much like what Susan wrote about 150 posts ago. I was brought to think they're evil and try to cheat me, but than again, I am trying to be independent young adult and stop calling my dad every time I don't understand something in bankish. I'm going there with my best smile and have to scrape every inch of self worth I've got in me, and I know that best case scenario I'll only understand 70% of the language.
I have the same fear from every first-time-having-to-deal-with-authority-institutions, but it lasts only with the bank. 5 years of having a bank account, still afraid of making mistakes and losing money. Maybe if I were richer it wouldn't be so scary.
ION, I hope you all had a great 4th. I didn't have internet all of the weekend, since dad broke the computer. Again. But I watched a lot of TV movies, yay.
Sue, I'm so sorry about Pico. It's wonderful he had you. Other Buffistas with pet issues, I'm sending my ~ma.
And now, to my question - Edit: got an answer, nevermind.
Timelies all!
Another quiet Sunday here...
Still... it's Disneyland, so there's that. I'd talk with them beforehand and get a short list of the Must-See attractions so that you have a Plan.
We are mostly doing Disney's California Adventure today and my relatives are getting a three day park hopper so we don't have to see everything today. We are doing Universal Studios tomorrow and then touristy stuff in Hollywood on Tuesday. On Wednesday they head back down to Disneyland and my sister is coming up from San Diego to join them.
Oh good! In my limited experience, it's a bad idea to try to do Everything, which leads to standing in line for most of the visit.
(Yeah, my experience is, um, DisneyWorld twice and DisneyLand twice. But I really enjoyed all of them thanks in part to experienced friends who showed me the True Way.)
(That included a group planning session where we mapped out our 5 days, making sure we would hit the can't-miss attractions in each park so that we had a printed itinerary. Not coincidentally, most of this group had gone to MIT....)
I'm scarily familiar with all the Disney properties.
Thanks Shir.
On my Sunday morning walk, I saw a tank rolling down a residential street, with soldiers sitting on top. Did you guys invade?

Ummm, not to my best knowledge. However, we rarely have tanks in the streets here, and it's very unusual to find them outside of an army base/war zone.
Hold on.
Shouts out load: Hai guys, are we missing any tanks and few soldiers? Have we accidentally sent one overseas?
Humm, guess not. I don't supposed you had camera with you, did you?
Awwww. baby stargazing...

No. And I was on another street, so I just saw it pass my intersection. It was heading towards the university, maybe the students were getting rowdy.
