I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

is the board wonky for anyone else. Natter and a few other threads are not showing in my message center. Threads are missing from tv threads.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I got up, drank some iced coffee, made eggs and bacon for b'fast, showered, watched teevee, bought gas, washed the car, went to the grocery store and to TJ's, and am working on cooking some supper.

Not a whole lot, but better than what I did on Thursday which was watch teevee.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I battled the vines in the garden, and also used my little saw to cut off a branch on the thorny crabapple which prevented me from getting at some of the pernicious vines. I'm best at the part of gardening which involves deconstructing plants, really.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

OK, as little kids' birthday parties go, today's was nice. Good weather, good setting, interesting people to talk to. However, guess whose kid was the one who clothesline tackled a smaller child for taking away a toy?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I did a bunch of plant destruction yesterday - and today I spent some time cutting that stuff down so it will fit in my green barrel. I was so excited to be working in the garden -- and then I looked at the weather -- monday is back up to 100 degrees

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm Googling in another tab, but I always prefer input from the B.org hivemind - what's your favorite way to cook/eat kohlrabi?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I survived the birthday party, and even had fun chatting with my friend's mom, mom's cousin, and my college friend about PBS shows, while kids splashed in the pool.

Also, my friend's recovering alcoholic husband is really quite nice and funny and helpful as a non-drinker. We even shared some silly jokes, which is nice, because before I was always "I hate you for making my friend unhappy". It was so nice to see her enjoying the party instead of worrying what would happen and being all tense.

I am really surprised to realise that I have never had kohlrabi, since I grew up next to a farm that grew it, and 90% of our meals when I was little were free/really cheap food from that farm. I would think they would be good somehow sliced and braised with butter and garlic, but that is just from the thought that they are like cabbage/broccoli and I like everything slices and braised in butter and garlic.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The new ATK test recipe is braised winter greens with curry and coconut. I wonder if that would work? It looks yummy.
