Happy Birthday, sj!! Happy Anniversary, Beverly and Hubby!!

My company is another one that's really good about telecommuting/flextime/flex-location working. We have our HQ up here in the NW 'burbs and a second office building on the north side of the city, and many people who live further south have chosen to do most of their hours at the city location. Others work partially from home and partially from one of the two offices (the Orthodox Jewish woman in my dept. works from home on Fridays so she doesn't have to rush home before sunset).

My only problem is that, after I moved up here so I'm only five miles from work, I don't really have an excuse for not coming into the office, even in the worst of weather!

Oh, and on a completely different topic, was it in Natter that someone, I think it was Jilli, recommended the book Cherise the Niece? Because, if it was, I have to say "Thank you!!" I bought it last night and got a good morbid giggle from it--it's definitely being shelved next to my Charles Addams book.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

esp. middle and high, since the schools in KC proper are...bad. Yes, I have applied for KCMO, but it is still, after what, 40 years? still a clusterfucked mess.

I used to pay more attention when I actually lived and worked in KCMO. I just remember lots of nasty politics and the superintendent revolving door.

I wouldn't be surprised, esp. as I see more people moving out to close suburbs as their kids get to be school age

I'm pure suburban, I live, work, and shop south of 435.

Does Goodwin's Law apply to earworms?

I like going into the office. There are fewer distractions, I have better equipment, and if I need to talk to someone I can just walk over the physically talk to them. There are some technical network annoyances when working from home as well.
