I loathe urgent care. 3 hours = not so urgent.
Oh, that's awful, Kat. I hope whatever he has flits on by.

Happy b-day Frank!
Oh I have a total wibbly fangirl crush on Michael Ruhlman.
I know. swoon!! And the followup post to the staple meals thing is like the starfucking foodie mirror of a Buffista discussion -- dozens upon dozens of "my preferred recipe for spatchcocked chicken is blahblahblah, but mostly, I just love the word! It's so fun to say! Spatchcock spatchcock spatchcock!!"
Happy Birthday, Frank!
Happy birthday, Frank!
Shir, thanks for checking in.
I felt like I had something specific to say but got distracted by the food talk. My favorite kind of talk!
My family's one kinda lowbrow constant party food is Cheese Devil. My tia Lela's, from the Rio Grande Valley, recipe. Velveeta melted in a crockpot w/ "sweet" milk, grated white onion, & some jalapenos. Sometimes I put in Rotel too. So good!
Happy life, the universe, and everything, Frank! L, the U and E are all very glad you're here with us.
And, Shir, I'm very glad you checked in and you're okay.
Oh, Kat, that sucks. I mean, I suppose yay no chicken pox, but urgent care is still a tooth-grindingly awful time/energy/emotion suck even on your own; with a toddler with an ear infection? Wretched. I suppose I should feel lucky that Matilda's regularly scheduled well-child visit last week was only a hair under two hours...yet, somehow, I don't.
I have my own doctor's (well, NP/midwife) visit this afternoon, complete with referral for my first-ever mammogram since I'm now officially 40. I'd fret, except that I suck so badly at BSE and hopefully a mammogram will be, at least, less uninformative.
In oddness news: this was in my goldbox: [link] and yes I know what it's for, but the name alone.
And am I the only one that's weirded out that it's made by a company named Gerber?
