Happiest of days, Frank!

::wishes I were going to Maine . . . maybe next summer for my uncle's 80th b'day::

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Shir-

I think that being happy for someone sort of extends to being concerned about them-- and I don't think it would be rude to mention it. I mean, not "Hey druggie musician, clean the f up!", but more of an "I'm concerned for you are you OK?" Which is, to me, all you can do in real life situations, too, as you cannot force someone to clean up. But perhaps a bunch of people saying "Are you OK?" will help the artist come to the conclusion that they are not. Does that make any sense?

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Does that make any sense?

It does. Only in my current musical fandom, it bad netiquette to even bat your eyelashes at the general direction of the private lives of the band.

It is a grey zone. That's why I'm asking you guys.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Happy Birthday, Frank!

At the last several parties I've been to, there's been a bowl of edamame. Easy to make, and requires no utensils to eat. (Though the last time I saw this served, a guy who'd never had it before was eating the pods.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Shir, I'm glad you checked in to let us know you were ok.

This is an awesome thread on Michael Ruhlman's blog about staple meals. Obviously the staple meals of people who read Michael Ruhlman's blog are not necessarily a representative sample of America, but it's still really interesting to read. (Plus, free great recipes!)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I adore Ruhlman's blog (and, to a kind of pathetic degree, Ruhlman), even if his comment threads routinely head into the wacky zone. I was thinking about delurking in the staple meals discussion, but then I saw something shiny. Possibly the man's hair.

Ah, that makes sense Shir. I just don't know what to tell you.
