I am watching the Canada Day ceremony on Parliament Hill on TV, and the main military guy who's marshaling the troops for a walk past the G-G seems to be missing his front three teeth.

ah, the joys of socialized medicine!
Now the Minister for Sport, Culture, Heritage, Status of Women and the Francophonie is speaking. I think she's wearing fake eyelashes.
There's the PM. Ascend already!

That seems like a random grouping. Do you also have a Minister of Pudding, Bolo Ties, Poutine and Muscle Cars?

You forgot Silly Walks.

That's all one minister? I object!

Canada has socialized insurance not socialized medicine. And dentistry is pretty much free market. That is I am pretty sure that most dentistry in Canada is paid for directly or by private insurance. There is funding in some provinces for cleaning for children under 12 and limited for the very poor, but that is pretty much it. So if a Canadian has bad teeth don't blame it on single payer: Canada does not have single payer dentistry.

Yeah. Duh. (Actually I think Poutine is part of the Francophonie.)
Actually, I think it's three different portfolios. It's a Conservative gov't that's not well represented in Women and Francophones, so it's a bit of a pile on. Also, this woman apparently campaigned hard to be the Culture minister.
Now there's a native blessing, followed by a multi ethnic, world musicy drum group from NS. World msuic so has to make it on the Stuff White People Like blog.
