an HR idiocy.
me too. Plus an Accounting office "brilliant solution" with no stated goal, but a whole lot of headache, and three people who want to be on the committee to examine new web 2.0 issues [(A) "new". SNORFLE. (B) There is no such committee.].
and our corporate server host (offsite because site != electrical stability at all.) just had what they're calling a 'universal service hiccup.' and dropped all of their clients on their butts.
Oh, and two people want to post things to the site ASAP, without review. and are pissed that someone needs to look at it and ask them to correct misspellings.
This is on top of the OMGWTFYoureAway?!? fires from last week.
kill me. now.
I'm supposed to start having this be a part-time gig tomorrow. I think that's a lie and I think my brain is going to melt all over the freaking server if I stay one more day.
Shrift - take my job. Please. You can blow up whatever you want.
I finished the minutes. Now to try and get them and the previous week's approved/corrected.
I've decided I should get Canada Day off, in spite of not being in Canada. Any other non-Canadians wanna join me?
shrift, that's rotten. I hope you soon find a better job. And you know - after seeing how you've been treated, I bet a bunch of people will be job-hunting as hard as they can (these will be the actually productive people).
In my workplace news ... turns out our web host has, somehow, lost an entire database. With no back-up. No explanation, just "it's gone".
joins amy. I am up for any and all days off. please to speak with my employer.
I actually offended I don't get Canada Day -- we're a bi-national organization!!
Where's my union rep???

Yo! I'm dating a Canuck, that should give me a pass.

Oooof.
My bank is German - we get No German days off. I call foul!!!
Shrift, you have my sincerest sympathies! And my fervent wish that this turns out to be one of the best things that could have happened, that is when you get your next job that turns out to be really spiffy and within taunting distance of the old job.
The fun part of my workplace news - it's not my responsibility! Someone yanked it away from me, didn't allow me any access to it ... so I can say, with a completely clear conscience (and total honesty), "it's not my job". (And, it turns out, the person who was supposed to be backing it up in Access? didn't ... not for several years.)
