Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Amy, I think that might apply to all houses in upstate NY. I live in half a house, and my downstairs neighbor and I are actually quote sure that I am payinbg for a lot of her electricity and she is paying for a lot of my gas!

I am actually trying to get the place cleaned up enough that I can get the landlord over here about the 5 non-working outlets I have.

The house I grew up in was like that too!

Also, Jesse's fav pic is mine, I think!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I am making ice cream today for the first time since summer camp as a kidlet. Just a cheap rock salt and ice maker, but I hope it turns out well.

DH made sorbet with strawberries, a bit of orange juice, sugar, and just a little splash of port.

We survived no AC in church this a.m. but haven't left the house (window AC on first floor!) since. And if this doesn't break soon, DH is going to sleep on the old twin bed in the basement and I'll sleep on the couch, since the cool air from the AC doesn't go upstairs to the bedrooms at all.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Huge crazy thunderstorm! That's one way to suck some oppressive heat out. We've got sheeting rain, thunder and lightening.

Electricity has gone down once but I am not plugged in so it just kills wireless and not actually my computer. Well and terrifies the cats which is unfortunate.

And I am sitting outside now and just ... being amazed by nature.

I have no A/C. I'm tempted to go hang out in the stairwell of my building for a while, since it's always cool there...I have the fan blowing on me, but since my living room gets soooo much afternoon sun, even with the shades drawn, it's just not gonna cool down much in here.

But I just looked at my weather widget, and it says it's only supposed to get to 79 here tomorrow. Thank god.

My widget tells lies and I cannot trust it. Which is annoying. But ooooooooh, thunderstorms are a good way to break this heat. Sticky but significantly cooler.

The stairwell sounds like a good idea, meara.

The status is NOT quo.

Ooo, I'm so jealous. I miss thunderstorms like whoa.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

My weather widget is always off by at least 5 degrees. Always.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Holy crap, that was amazing ice cream.

Two pints of strawberries, and because it was an eggless ice cream, nothing was cooked, so it was just fresh and delicious.

We fed 10 people ice cream and still had some left over.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Timelies-morning, Buffistas.

Sue, I'm in awe and almost tearing with your (grammar?) stalwart (not sure it's the right word either) and love to Pico. You are lucky to have each other, and I'm sending a lot of love.

ION, am I the only Buffista almost without interesting dreams? Seriously, I'm not excited about going to bed to see what my dreams (if I'll remember them) will be like. They're flat, or putting me in uncomfortable position (I don't like conformations, and in my dreams I'm often in one, or need to juggling between people's wants and needs).

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

For some reason one of my hot weather foods is chili - bean chili flavored with just a little meat.Tonight's was black bean bison chili: black beans (dry beans soaked overnight, not canned) bargain bison, onions, chili powder, garlic, salt, pepper, and a little jack cheese crumbled in. Not traditional in any tradition I know but good.
