A year and a half ago, I could have eviscerated him with my thoughts. Now I can barely hurt his feelings. Things used to be so much simpler.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse you interested? Outback for dinner?

I already had McD's for lunch, so I think no. But thanks!

Or possibly Discover customer service has been outsourced to 1973.

Seriously.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

well it seems mac thinks going to Target would be some grand torture to his being, so I think we will be staying home anyway.

Kat, how do you know about that website?

Someone linked it in the comments of the original blog post. Non relatedly, ita. Wanna come visit for a bit if you have energy and desire? We're home tonight.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Someone linked it in the comments of the original blog post.

Okay, that's a relief. I was worrying about your wanderings.

As for tonight, once I leave work I have big-store errands to run (ouch), and then I report into work tomorrow morning at 7am, so I'm going to keep it close to home. Under no circumstances can I risk more of a headache than I have now.

But this is out of control, so keep asking me. Or maybe one day I'll get my apartment tidy (although never remotely babyproof).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Emmett hit me a double for my birthday and we won the Tournament of Champions. Which means our team is the best team in all of District 4, which is about 130 teams altogether.

It was a very tense game (again) but late in a tie game Emmett lead off with a long double to right field that one-hopped to the fence. And he eventually came around to score the go ahead run.

They made a fight of it, and scored two in their last at bat, but we prevailed 4-3.

Emmett also ripped a single, so he seems to be over his hit-by-pitch panic. He also threw out another baserunner as the catcher. So, it was very gratifying.

Then I scooted down the peninsula to attend Suzi's going away party. Saw fellow birthday celebrators Deb and Nic (and K-Bug's boyfriend), and many Buffistae (it was pretty much a full turn out of the Bay Area group).

Matilda was working the super-adorable thing, and as K-Bug is the Best Teeanger Ever she played with Matilda lots and lots. I'm pretty sure there were pictures.

JZ wore the dress I got her for her birthday and a swell time was had by all. I gave Suzi lots of extra hugs.

Woo hoo!

Apparently my uncle is a coach for my cousin's baseball team, and my mother was telling crazy stories from their league. Like, apparently there was a coach who made his less-good players stay home for important games, so he only had to play the 9 best kids. Also, his co-coach or whatever was having the better pitchers throw more than the allowed number of pitches. It's funny, my uncle is nuts about a lot of things (never get into a car he's driving unless you enjoy road rage), but is really insistent that the baseball team stay fun.

Ha! We suspected the team we played today did that. They only had 10 players. We played our full 12, including the kid who could only bunt.

Also, his co-coach or whatever was having the better pitchers throw more than the allowed number of pitches.

Yeah, that's a big no-no and will get you forfeited out of the tournament. It's why we have so many complicated rules about pitching and rest.
