The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Also, how bored are you?

That obvious?

OTOH, my boss just called to ask me how to find international zip codes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Everyone knows the Texas GOP is nuts, right? Texas GOP Passes Theocratic Platform

The Texas GOP declares that "America is a nation under God founded on Judeo-Christian principles" and that the party is pledged "toward dispelling the myth of separation of church and state."

We oppose any governmental action to restrict, prohibit, or remove public display of the Decalogue (Ten Commandments) or other religious symbols."

The Texas GOP supports congressional passage of the so-called "Constitution Restoration Act," which would among other provisions bar the U.S. Supreme Court from hearing and ruling in cases regarding governmental entities or officials who acknowledge "God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government." The law would also permit the impeachment and removal of judges who listen to such cases.

The party would forbid judges from determining the constitutionality of laws and end Supreme Court jurisdiction in cases involving abortion, religious freedom and the Bill of Rights. It calls for the impeachment of judges who, through the subjective judgment of others, "abuse their authority."

...and so on....

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Did you bring back everyone you went out with?

Yep. Though I contemplated throwing Noah overboard. The problem is, much like his bike helmet, he HATES his life vest. Which, I hate a life vest too and only sporadically wear one. But the difference is massive (1) I know to hold my breath underwater and (2) I know how to swim.

For the first half, he cranked a bit but was fine as long as he was sitting with me, facing forward. We got to Mother's Beach as he was cranking up. He had apples and blue berries and some toast that I had kept dry (amazingly). Then when we put his life jacket back on to come back he pitched a fit. He wasn't hurt. He wasn't in pain. He was mad. There were no tears, but lots of scrunched up face time.

Which means we'll have to do a it again for him to get used to it. I love him, but baby needs to chill.

I think this might mean swim lessons (which start sunday) are going to be a nightmare.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am in your state, Amy, and I took

11th grade English preparing for an english regents(but would have taken AP if it were offered
Chemistry (some people took AP bio as well
Pre-Calculus (a non-AP student would have taken Course III),
Social Studies, which in 11th grade was European History,< preparing for the Regents in World History
French III (preparing for French Regents)
Chorus/Show Choir
Band (every other day)
Gym (every other or every 4th day, can't remember)
Chemistry Lab(every 4th day, but I wonder if I had to skip band or chorus or something to go to lab, because I had no study halls)

The big thing in NY when I was in school was prepping for the regents which were in 11th grade. The exams have changed now, so I am not sure what's the what.

Random question - is it possible for something to be "beyond hyperbole"?

With petabytes of storage and advanced datamining techniques, our ability to ferret out obscure relationships among items and events has never been greater. But it's beyond hyperbole to suggest that this capacity has made scientific reasoning obsolete, as was proposed earlier this week.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

tommyrot, I was just arguing with someone who says that I am paranoid when I say that some wish to turn the US into a theocracy. I guess that being paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't really out to get you.

Huh. Did you define how many is "some"? Because it'd be easy to show there are two people in the country who want theocracy, but perhaps more difficult to show it's a widespread point of view.

Anyway, just point this person to the Texas GOP's 2008 platform... or there's lots of other stuff to cite....

I was referencing folk like Dobson and his Focus on the Family .
