That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yays to Dana and bon bob!!!

I am ambitious in both work and non-work. While my ambitions do include some monetary stuff, it's more like make enough money to take care of myself, buy a townhouse, and retire without having to eat cat food rather than making $X per year. Most of my ambitions have to do with satisfaction, happiness, making a difference, and having some power in my world.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay, Dana! I'm glad I got that trip to Houston in before you left.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Congrats you guys!

One buffista moves into Texas, another one has to move out. I swear!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I missed Dana's news (will go check Beep Me for it there), but I am VERY EXCITED about bon bon and bob bob's news! Yay for more SoCal buffistas, and yay for getting a tenure track job in the humanities.

Which is also a good segue for me and my ambition, or lack thereof. NON-tenure track. That says it all. I definitely lack ambition as far as career goes, and anyone who has seen my house knows I lack it in the housekeeping department as well. I mean, take right now for example: sitting watching Yo Gabba Gabba with the kids and reading b.org after a morning of playing in the park.

Oh wow Dana, congratulations to you and the DH! Sounds like the stars are well-aligned for your move.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Congrats, Dana! That's awesome.

Thanks you guys for the congrats; Bob Bob says "thanks everyone." We got very lucky to go the one place we were most happy to move to.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

bon bon! Ask Bob Bob's opinon on Simon Critchley.

When will you be in SoCal? I'll be down there over Labor Day weekend doing the reading and bus tour.

I asked him, but I need a stompy to send him or me his password, so he doesn't have to respond from my account.

I think we might miss your next visit to the area. He'll be there in mid-August, but I will still have a place here until 9/30 and may not move out there until closer to then.

The west coast is totally where it's at, yo. Says this former East Coast buffista.

Not that I don't love and give props to the East Coast.

I'm just lovin' on the PNW right now.

And we're totally going to have to lure Dana to Seattle for some fun once she moves!!! Whoot!
