I get being far away when a grandparent is seriously ill. It was hell not being near my grandfather while he was sick. And she probably should get some sort of allowances so she can attend her family, but with this chick being all flip about it like that ... and her tone wasn't like a gallows humor-trying-to-get-through-this tone, it was "ha ha - played dead gandfather card". And it bugged.

Last week I gave away a copy of Allyson's book to a local Buffy fan I met at the comic book store. This week, she left a DVD she burned of the unaired pilot to thank me.
How cool is that?
I use Off Family for the kids if they're going to be out in our back yard--I worry about tick issues (which seem to be a problem up here). It has a lower level of DEET. I keep it off their hands and away from their face (just basically spray their backs and legs). I tend to freak about ticks and lyme disease.
So basically Buckaroo Bonzai.
As role models go, you could do a LOT worse.
Fuck. This headache just turned migrainey and now I have nausea on top of the pain. And it's WAY too hot in this office.
ok, I did a timesheet transfer from electronic to paper and typed up meeting minutes that are late. I can leave, right?
Yes, msbelle. Run!
Grr, I got a call and have to do a thing.
why don't these people know I have summer planning to do instead.
In the last year or so, the CDC said that lemon eucalyptus does repel mosquitoes, which is the only natural repellent with scientific backing. I don't like using DEET, but you can reduce your expose by putting it on your clothes rather than your skin.
As anyone who knows me might suspect, I'm allergic to Skin So Soft.
Happy Birthday, Plei!!!
So yeah, just got off the phone with the mother. The student thought she had a 95 all semester and was upset that she ended up with a 92. REALLY??? Suck it up, student.
Anyway, the mom was actually very nice and apologetic, though she said, "I don't know if you're still at school..." Two weeks after school is over, you're wondering if I'm still at school? Seriously? I thought the kids were the only ones who thought teachers live in the school building.
Kat, I love that you laughed at procrast-o-student. LOVE IT.
