Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

This? Is why my friends are jealous of my job (in a they are happy for me way, not the bitchy mean way). [link]

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Didn't Stephanie and her DH roast beans?

That's it! I knew one of us had.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Gotta love San Francisco: [link]

Found this hilariously subtle change to an advertisement on one of the MUNI cable cars. The original sign said "Been down on a submarine lately?" My hat is off to the perpetrator.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Didn't Stephanie and her DH roast beans?

yes, DH had a coffee company for a while, but it was suspended when one of the partners went to Iraq, I think.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Am in a meeting with Roger Staubach. Wonder what Hank Hill would have to stay about that?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think lunch just crested nasty. But at least I know I'm done exploring that avenue. Fries with cheese bacon and mushrooms on top (see how I avoid *all* the commas?). The stomach is a strange taskmaster.

Okay, off to the bookstore with me. I fell way out of that habit. Hopefully I can put it back in, with some calmness.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think my assumption is that Joe's company was getting, well, company-sized orders. Which, even with as much coffee as I drink, is more than I need.

Coffee Geek should tell me where to go, I think.

Punishingly Intricate

Fries with cheese bacon and mushrooms on top

Man that sounds so good to me right now (just had a piece of too sweet pie and a chai latte, good but too much sugar).
