Everytime I pass the gas station that has gas at $4.75 it makes me feel sad, and that's the cheap gas. Did we peak on all the good stuff, really? I mean, if civilisation were to collapse, we know the numbers can be made up again from relatively few, but where are the raw materials for a new wave of technology?
That's a party to kick back and watch.
I'm just happy I've had two meals in a row with tomatoes.
You know, I got the nicest note from my SIL after I sent the membership the children's museum that I'm a fabulous auntie and that her children are lucky to have me. I got all allergy-eyed. It was such a nice thing to hear.
Aw, of course you are and they are!
There's still lots and lots of coal, ita, that would get us most of the way there.

Then again, maybe not: Peak Coal - Coming Soon?
In particular greater detail has been added regarding future US coal production, noting that the US has now switched from being a net exporter to a net importer of steam coal and arguing that total (volumetric) US coal production will peak between 2020 and 2030.
You guys have heard about the hydrogen-cell Honda, right?
Uh, so, Burrell -- was it our Victor (poet Victor, not new-ish Victor C.) who decided to spread these terrifying LIES?
Yes, it was our Victor on his LJ. I just assume he's always right about these things.
Allyson, you are indeed a wonderful auntie and your niece and nephew are lucky kiddos. Also if you are serious about getting the nephew a space suit it may be useful to shop around. We found Isaac's space suit at the Observatory for like $50 and later bought the same one online for much less. Also the space suit is sold in white, orange, and I think blue so make sure you get the right color.
As I commented when I first read about the fuel-cell Honda, now all we need is an efficient way to generate, transport, store, and distribute hydrogen, and we'll be all set!

Hmm. Damned journalists and their facts.

<makes plans to hoard coffee>
You probably don't want to announce that on a public forum, as that will lead the coffee-less zombies right to you.
OTOH, when the coffee apocalypse comes, we can all get tips on how to structure post-apocalyptic society from the Mad Max movies....
