Natter 59: Dominate Your Face!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I said you would be pleased with his manners, and referred them to Gothic Charm School.
Awww, thank you!
I should look up Lip Service clothes since I like em on her.
They're cool, but I'm impressed she has so much after so long, because I was never hugely impressed with their staying power.
Some Lip Service stuff is really well-made and lasts forever. Some of it ... doesn't. Their vinyl stuff usually holds up pretty well, and the same with their cotton-twill items. Their "brocade" is kinda hit-or-miss.
Which is to say, I don't know where to get them around here
ita, if you're willing to shop for Lip Service online, I highly recommend Redemption Klothing. Every time I've wanted a Lip Service item, they've been able to get it for me.
This season, ita. That was the ... gimmick, for lack of a better word?
I don't even know why I know this. I've watched the show, like, three times. CMM kind of fascinates me in that car wreck way, though.
Corsets are pretty insistent, shape-wise.
Most of the ones I've tried on insisted that I needed more boobs.
That's not entirely true. I've tried on some that fit, but they also flattened what little I had so the look was a bit Elizabethan. I'm sure if I bought a good, well made corset it would fit me perfectly. I mean, isn't a good one made to a person's measurements? So that'd work, but I don't have the lifestyle to justify the expenditure on that one.
I do like some of the items on the Lip Service website. A lot actually.
Have you been to the corset store on Pico near the 405?
Have you been to the corset store on Pico near the 405?
No, but if you could see my eyes, you'd see I look very interested. (Oh dear, DH would have a wee fit if he knew I was talking corsets.) But that sounds oh so very nearby. And here's me with oh so much time on my hands since it's summer.
I've been in twice, and I have two corsets. The math isn't complicated. If you need a hand to hold, just holler...
Okay ita, I think you have a deal.
But now it's bedtime.
Burrell, you can get one that's underbust, so it just sucks in your midriff....that works better for me, since I'm an A cup. I have the problem that the ones with cups tend to either make me flat, or just make me look kinda sad, yeah. But if I go for something where I'm wearing a blouse and an underbust corset, it looks great! $99...
And skippity once more, because according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Cass's birthday.
Happy birthday, Cass! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
Nilly, catching up from yesterday, science of course is done in metric since it makes the scales work out much easier. Engineers working for NASA
used
to design stuff at least once did so in feet and inches, then convert it so that components from the rest of the world would work with US machines. But it is currently believed that one of the Mars missions from the late 90s that failed, failed because one of design teams (from Lockheed I think) forgot to do a conversion somewhere. And because of simple math error, a couple hundred million went down the drain. So I am willing to bet that everything on Mars right now was designed in metric, to avoid conversion problems...
