And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And you thought Buffistas were pedantic about regional pizza:

From this summer onwards the Pizza Napolitana will be recognised by the European Union as a "regional speciality", with the same rank as French Champagne or German beer, which means anyone selling it in Europe under the official title, Pizza Napolitana, should theoretically be subject to strict inspections.

The rules published in the European Union's Official Journal were drawn up by the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana (the True Neapolitan Pizza Association).

The new law states the pizza must be no more than 35cm (14in) in diameter and no thicker than a third of a centimetre at its centre, rising to 2cm at the crust.

The tomatoes must be the San Marzano variety grown in the fertile soil at Mount Vesuvius' base.

The oil: extra virgin; the cheese: buffalo mozzarella. All the ingredients must be from the Campania region.

The oven must be wood-fired, and the pizza must cook in less than two minutes.

The director of the Real Pizza Association, Antonio Pace, says his organisation will take restaurants to court if they advertise Pizza Napolitana and are not making it according to the agreed rules.

"We are protecting one of the most ancient and most important gastronomic traditions," he said.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have yet to hear if there will be a 1st grade graduation. I hope not.

I do "get" having a ceremony at the big transitions on to first grade and out of elementary school. Although I could be wrong, but I don't think adults came to my eighth grade "graduation." It was still A Thing!

Edit: Oh, I forgot my point, which was: kindergarten gradutation is slightly ridiculous but cute, but a first grade graduation would be idiotic.

I didn't have a graduation until I was 17.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Prep school transition in Jamaica was pretty huge, but this was the deal for which they'd printed every student's results nationwide in all the papers. The ceremony itself was...well, I don't know. I didn't get to graduate, since they were trying to hold me back and my mother pulled me out of school instead.

I had a graduation ceremony from elementary school, but not (I think) middle.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

As 8th graders we had a full mini-ceremony like the 12th graders. They do a big 5th grade one at mac's school which I think is idiotic. Yeah, you are changing schools, you do not need a ceremony for that.

Ugh, which reminds me, I need to get teacher gifts. I did not like the teacher this year, grrr. 2 more weeks thoug, only 2 more weeks. mac is getting 2 more Justice League action figures, one of the Encyclopedia Prehistorica books and maybe a shirt.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

We had kindergarten, 4th grade, eighth grade, and high school graduation, but we changed buildings every time, so it sort of made sense. My eigth grade graduation was memorable because a student in my school died that day after having skipped school, stolen my neighbors moped, and gotten run over by an 18 wheeler.

I didn't have middle school (or junior high), so it was just whatever that was in 8th grade, and then Actual Graduation from HS. Oh, and I think paper caps and gowns in K.
