The distinction between a site and a subdirectory isn't a very meaningful one. I mean, it doesn't exist. Subdirectories aren't different from site contents. They're just a means of organising it.
True, I think the point was that the main page didn't have a menu or button to access the subdirectory, you'd need to type it in the URL.
Anyhoo, I've moved to the sipping on wine portion of the afternoon. If I'm online, I'm not drinking alone, right?
Kids are watching Yo Gabba Gabba. I resisted it at first because it is kind of annoying, but it has won me over with it's cute songs.
I'm way late to the dressing for theatre/airplane etc. conversation. I agree with the "dress up for theatre" camp. People dressed like slobs and bringing food into the theatre make my cringe. I feel the same way about going to see the symphony.
In terms of airlines, though...hm. I try not to look like a total slob, but I definitely value comfort over appearance. And the people I know who travel the most, the TV guys like my DexH who are on a plane 2-4 times a week, dress in jeans and a t-shirt and still get upgraded to first class...because they fly 150K+ miles a year. DexH gets really annoyed at people who judge him for not dressing up since airplanes are basically his commute to work, and he's usually so short on sleep that he has to crash out on the plane. Even if my attitude was a bit different than his, I could really understand where he was coming from.
I do agree that a "normal" traveler who doesn't have platinum gold super special shiny status like the the TV guys do will get treated better and get better upgrades if they look nice, though.
So, my street is all posted with filming notices...for Pelham 1-2-3.... for SATURDAY! I may actually See Something! I swear, for the number of filming notices I see, I see a shocking lack of actual filming.
From an AP article on Obama rumours:
The Fox News Channel recently labeled her as "Obama's baby mama" and also raised the inflammatory suggestion that she gave her husband a "terrorist fist jab" when they bumped knuckles the night he clinched the nomination.
Terrorist fist jab?! WTF is wrong with these people?
In terms of dressing for the theatre... it would be wonderful if people dressed and behaved nicely but as long as they're buying tickets, all I ask is that they realize that they aren't at home- the actors (and fellow audience members) are RIGHT THERE- and act accordingly. And buy more tickets and see more shows.
No a/c. Am pissed. Have 9:30 meeting so I may not be able to do the face time office intimidation. 82.9. Fuck.
I got yelled at by babushkas outside Russian orthodox churches in Vladimir. I wasn't even intending to go in, in jeans and short sleeves. They wrapped my jacket around my head and shoulders, shoved me in and gave me a lecture on the trinity. Of course, it was in russian, so I didn't understand a damned thing. Ah, the twilight of the Soviet empire...

It won me over when I saw Elijah Wood on doing his "dancy dance."

Um, yeah. I don't travel quite as much as him, but yeah.
All this talk about dressing properly made me go buy this dress [link] So I am properly kitted out for my mom's 80th birthday dinner. My only other dressy summer dress is 10 years old and I thought it was time for a new one. The color is a little odd--I will either look resplendent or like a choir teacher from 1978. I am hoping for the former.

Franny was dancing along with Elijah the other day, and the steps are redonkulously cute when done by a little girl.
