Chicago style deep dish is not like other pizzas that claim to be deep dish. Chicago style deep dish is a pie. It's not something you can fold and eat while walking down the street. It's something you eat with friends while having a beer and conversation (during the 45+ minutes you wait after ordering). It is a meal, not something that sits congealing under a heat lamp waiting for someone to order a slice. Chicago style deep dish is one of the factors in surviving a Chicago winter.

Dear world of choice (aka Buffistas),
1. It's morning here.
2. It's morning here after I got 5 hours of sleep for reasons I'm not sure are good enough to justify it. Oh, cruel world. So much fun and good and work to do, so little sleeeeeep.
3. I'm so so so excited about seeing The Gutter Twins here in September. I'm worried that if I'll keep it up like this I'll run out of excitement before the lads will get here.
4. Bellwether is a kick-ass book. I loved it. I keep calling annoying unuseful (eh, is that a word?) persons in my life that I couldn't keep out of them.
5. You can tell it's summer just by the number of CouchSurfing requests I'm getting. Speaking of which, I have no idea where the woman from Cancun that was supposed to stay over yesterday is, but she had 2 digits missing in the phone number she sent me so I couldn't phone her. Well, she has my number...

Is Chicago style a two crust pizza?
No. The deep dish is a really deep dish (like 3") but the crust is only thick enough to maintain structural integrity. It's much more filling than crust.

Heh. Yeah, it's now after 10PM here on board time, so I was kinda contemplating bed...my downstairs neighbors are playing loud music off and on (off, at the moment). I'll probably head to bed but end up reading a book until it's late anyway. :)
