shrift in DC? I hadn't been aware of this! (bring cool clothes - it's hotter than, well, you know - and a warm sweater because most places are airconditioned to the frigid level)

I seriously need to bring a sweater into the office for the summer -- it's so freaking cold in here! Unnecessary!

My office is the same way. I bring a sweater, and then forget one day and take it home, and then am freezing to the point of unproductive the next day when I'm sweaterless. And then I remember to bring my sweater back to repeat the whole cycle. Life is much harder when there's no longer anyone to safety-pin notes to the back of your shirt after school.
It's finally below 90 degrees here in DC. And of course, as usual, my building's air conditioning is horrible. In a studio apartment, I've got two air conditioning units and a fan on, and the temp in here is around 75. That's about as low as I can get it.
The good thing about CSAs: Fresh vegetables! In season! And it feels like free, because I paid for them in March! The bad thing: washing the dirt off the leafy greens takes forever. I just put the pac choi through four changes of water before it seemed clean enough.

Right?!? I finally managed to pay my rent yesterday after ten days of going "Oh! I need to do that!" right at the wrong times.

I'm going to a convention in Silver Spring and won't really have any free time, otherwise I'd be demanding that the DCistas wine and dine me.
I just remembered that I walked by the Webby Awards last night. Did I see Stephen Colbert? Ludacris? Anyone famous? No I did not
SC did accept his award with the speech (five words maximum, as per award rules), "Me me me me me."
huh ... and we'd be demanding that you come into town to be wined and dined.
Have a good convention! and Silver Spring's pretty nice these days - they've done all kinds of things with the downtown area.

I'm so glad you said this, Jesse. Otherwise I would've utterly forgot that this pay period's bills-that-still-must-be-mailed are sitting in my purse.
t dashes to mailroom
I want someone to lunch with and, alas, no lunch buddies are available. Woe.
