FYI - The other Phoenix, that thing on Mars, is on TV tonight. There's a small chance that I show up in this one, and not in a bunny suit.
On Wednesday, June 11, at 10:00 p.m. EDT and PDT, Discovery Channel premieres Mars: The Quest for Life, an all-new, one-hour behind-the-scenes look at the Phoenix lander. The documentary follows the man in charge, Peter Smith, as he and his team struggle to defy the odds and get Phoenix safely onto the surface of Mars. Featuring never-before-seen footage of Phoenix's dramatic, emotional landing, the program explores the secrets that Phoenix might finally unlock about life on another world.
I did not know Obama was a smoker! Damn that liberal media.
Maybe he can take up a distinguished-looking pipe instead.
shrift & brenda, are you interested in catching dinner tomorrow or Friday?
Aw, man! I'm flying to DC tomorrow, otherwise I totally would.
I can't rationally discuss weight issues. But I really want to stabby stabby every doctor who has given me a stern talking-to...after all my blood tests come back in normal range for every single thing attributed to obesity.
Worse is when the doctor is wicked overweight and still gets smug.
As someone who is hypothyroid, I can't think how you'd control it with diet. Perhaps a subclinical case might respond to increasing your iodine? I went the HRT route, for me it's very cheap ($5 a mo), works well, no side effects.

Cool lori, we should tape that.
I think if I'm going to get the floors mopped I'm going to need coffee first.
Mocha Nips
Warning: All of those Nips candies will take your dental work out. Both my mom and I had two trips to the dentist before we gave them up. My dentist says they're the worst.
I have the linebacker bone structure of my father's father's family. On the other hand, my sister looks just like a lot of my mother's family. My mother, however, doesn't look like the rest of her family, but when we went to a reunion of remote relatives, it turned out that she looks like her father's mother's family. Genetics, she is freaky. Also, why did I inherit my father's feet and my mother's teeth, instead of the other way around? Big genetic error.
Allyson, DH tries to find doctors that are overweight. The last two he's had haven't given him any guff about his extra lbs. He likes it that way.
I spent an hour with the trainer today. Damn, I love it and I hate it. They push you and it's painful but feels good. I think I'm going to sign up for a six week training session and see if it helps.
I just ate a BLT. No salmonella yet.
I have my dad's face - his eyesight and temperament, a bunch of my mom's body (which not so unsimilar from my dad's mom), but my butt - no one knows.
Kat, glad your dad is out and doing ok!
