If anyone knows of anything developmental that's NOT generally considered to be the mother's fault, please let me know so I can blame DH for it. Thanks!
Um. Male Pattern Baldness is all I'm coming up with. Though isn't that through the mother's father? feh.
tangent, but I'd like to add it to the stabination pile, just for eyerolliness. An associate just changed a profile to include the intro "I'm a technological MacGuyver"
he is pretty darn good at putting stuff together, but this kind of kills his claim by his claiming it.
And of course I had to bring it right over here to display. I'm such a good person.
I once had myself at a size 12 (this was more than 20 years ago; I'm 5'9" and have fairly large bones). I kept myself at that weight by exercising fairly strenuously and on less than 1,000 calories a day (usually in the 800-900 range). um ... NO, not any more.

Actually breast size is supposedly passed down mostly via your dad's mom than your own. So there's that.

I'm one bit of anecdata, but I definitely take after the women on my father's side in that regard. And I hope for Annabel's sake it's generally true, because if she takes after DH's mom, she'll be a nice average 36C or so and not have to take out a mortgage to buy her bras from specialty shops.

Damnit, can't I get anything right?? My dad's mom gave me her overweight gene but not the boobage gene--do you know how hard it is to find a small-running C cup in the larger band sizes? My sister and I both got our mom's boobs, unfortunately.

I have my grandma's (dad's mom) exact body, including breast size. It's kind of freaky.
I'm finding this whole thing hilarious -- I'd say "I thought it was just me", but I never really thought about it at all, in any "this is a known phenomenon" kind of way.
In body shape, I definitely take after my mom's side of the family.
I have my father's mother's hips in a big, big way. Also, her withered lips. Sigh.
Speaking of all this, has anyone read, used, or heard anything about the Schwartzbein Principle?
An acupuncturist friend has tested me to discover that I have a thyroid deficiency. It has been further suggested that I might be able to control it through diet and supplementation. Much more my choice than synthetic HRT.
