Oh I know it. Back in my single days, I would make a batch of lunch something and haul it to work until it was gone. Em gets on these kicks. For three weeks this winter it was chicken pot pies. We try to just pack her leftovers from the night before, but sometimes she either hated it (I made the jambalya *too* spicy for her, although part of that was her just being a PITA) or there's enough for Joe and I and she gets the fallback.
I have a feeling when she starts school next year, she's gonna be the only one without a Lunchables. Have you seen the sodium content on those things???
I
still
don't like sweet squashes.
And sweet potatoes? Blech.
Oi, Cash. Here's hoping that it was all a dream.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I double dosed myself with my allergy pill today because I've had two cups of coffee and am still all foggy-headed.
So tired I think I am going to DIE.
But at least I didn't have to give anyone bail money this morning?
Which reminds me - I stir-fried for the first time last night!! Chicken and broc and sugar snap pees with shallots and garlic and chicken stock and lemon and pepper and hot chili pastse. Served lo mein with whole wheat linguini. Joe said it was good, Em thought it was spaghetti and ate a good amount. I liked it, but I think it was too bland. If the Hell's Kitchen had been there, he would have chucked the wok at me. Anyone got any good stirfry recipes or sauce-y type things?
Yikes, Cashmere.
But at least I didn't have to give anyone bail money this morning?
It's always good to count your blessings.
No such luck, Sparky. Nephew & Baby Mamma loaned money to friends who refused to pay them back. Baby Mamma (who's a rather crazy type) proceeded to call them on the phone, threatening them. Friends called the police, who arrested them BOTH for intimidation. My sister had to go pick up their 2 year old daughter last night.
Nephew has a record (DUIs, assult, etc.) so she's not bailing him out. But Baby Mamma (who is a stripper) needs to work to make the money to pay their rent, pay their fines, and bond out my newphew. Not to mention someone needs to take care of their CHILD.
Feh. I'm the only one in the family who has the money so I'm just going to do it. They say they'll repay me but I'm not counting on it.
Damn, Cashmere....
Personally, it's nice to know that my problems are pretty minor in comparison....

Me, too! Now I live with a dude who won't eat the same thing 2 days in a row. (Except, oh, his 2 peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch every single day. If he's cool eating the same thing for lunch, why are leftovers for dinner such a horrible, soul-sucking thing?)
