I wonder if it's coincidental that many place with less sunlight have a lot of fish in their diets, traditionally? Or I could be making shit up again.

Guess it would be tough to have a Vitamin D deficiency growing up in Florida.
Unless you hide from the sun all the time! Which, of course, people should do.

That's my theory. (I had low Vitamin D when I was tested in January, so I've been thinking about Vitamin D a lot. My doctor blamed the fact that I'm vegetarian and don't drink much milk. I blamed the fact that it was January.)

I'm guessing they added together. Doesn't grain stuff have added D, too?

In the kids-are-resilient-and-adaptable, I present my nephew who stole handfuls of hot salsa when he was under a year and just put that stuff away with glee! And he was a formula baby. He's a healthy, active 5.5 year old who eats anything you put in front of him and will often pick out something so exotic, even his garbage disposal dad pauses at (though if he says he doesn't want to eat it, listen. He's got a good reason somewhere and it has often come back up unexpectedly.)
Whatever works for you and keeps them healthy.
Doesn't the human body actually produce its own vitamin D with mild sun exposure?
Laura, good friends of our have mondo huge baby boys, too. Their son is 6 months old and just topped 24 lbs. Their 2 year old is 40 lbs. Their dad is a big guy and their mom is very tall, too.
I was didn't really have to be strict with Owen because he wasn't fixated on candy, etc I(until I introduced him to mini M&Ms). And he still refuses soda (he's had a taste here or there). Liv wants to down my diet coke and she would eat candy for breakfast if I let her.
Note to self: taking a yoga class and an aqua jogging class one after another at the end of the day = EXHAUSTING
I feel like a noodle.
Most breakfast cereals have added vitamin D. And also, I take a multivitamin every day that has vitamin D in it. After I told the doctor that, he told me to take extra D supplements. I've also been paying attention to making sure I get some time in the sun every day.
