83 is a good long run, but, damn, he's such a quality human being that we really could have done with another two or three decades of him. Disappointing race, happy to see Da'Tara do it for Tiznow (like Plei said) and I'm also v. disappointed in the tv coverage.
I haven't read new stuff from Dutrow - but he's not the only one questioning Desormeaux' decision to ease the horse. I think if BB had quietly slowed down the rest of us would have been okay - but he fought Desormeaux all the way. My question is - if he was out of gas, why not just let him coast?
One of the Bloodhorse bloggers thought that Desormeaux should be suspended.
