83 is a good long run, but, damn, he's such a quality human being that we really could have done with another two or three decades of him. Preferably ending peacefully in bed surrounded by fat, happy grand and great-grandchildren, not with tubes and IVs and lung cancer. Fuck you, cancer, you asshole.
What JZ said. I'm guessing he must have had an inkling something was coming, since he made that official retirement announcement a couple of years back.
Also, Hec, where are the scans?
What? Am I supposed to post them?
Well, maybe in Bitches.
You do it. I can't put that on my work computer.
Hey sumi and Plei, what did you think about the Belmont?
This crop is weak as all get out, but it's nice to see my boy Tiznow get a classic winner.
And what do you think about Dutrow, at this point, shifting the blame onto Desormeaux?
The Amazing Touch of Implosion returns!
Sigh. Coworker leaves for an hour and what happens? BOOM.
Disappointing race, happy to see Da'Tara do it for Tiznow (like Plei said) and I'm also v. disappointed in the tv coverage.
I haven't read new stuff from Dutrow - but he's not the only one questioning Desormeaux' decision to ease the horse. I think if BB had quietly slowed down the rest of us would have been okay - but he fought Desormeaux all the way. My question is - if he was out of gas, why not just let him coast?
One of the Bloodhorse bloggers thought that Desormeaux should be suspended.
JZ, did you get the DVD I sent you?
