Do people not know that IT folk are often chained with pagers?
When I lived in San Francisco in '95 and '96, I saw lots of IT people with pagers. So I'm surprised now by people who don't know that.

One of my co-workers is engaged to be married, and she's having the wife of another co-worker make her wedding cake.
Co-worker's wife just brought in 5 cakes for us all to try, so that engaged!co-worker would have lots of input on the cake flavors to choose. (Raspberry swirl w/vanilla buttercream frosting, blueberry swirl w/vanilla buttercream frosting, chocolate w/almond buttercream frosting, lemon w/champagne buttercream frosting, banana w/marshmellow-ish buttercream frosting. GUH.)
The winner was lemon, followed by chocolate. I voted for raspberry swirl, but with the champagne frosting instead of vanilla. The banana cake was too dense, much like banana bread -- REALLY yummy, but the texture was all wrong for a wedding cake.
I'm now eating seconds of the chocolate and raspberry swirl (our portions were wee little pinky-sized pieces, so I don't feel bad about eating seconds).
(Well, I wouldn't feel bad about eating seconds even if the pieces were plate-sized.)

Okay guys, help me out. This is the last day of school, and I have to do all the sorting/cleaning/putting away stuff, and I am OUT of oomph. It's all gone. Bye-bye, oomph.
But I have to get it done, because I'm leaving on Wednesday, so I won't be able to get back in here before they clean. Argh.

I'm eating a doughnut! But not krispy kreme. Nor free. But I did run into a kinda hot dyke from Philly at the doughnut store. Even though the hot barista was not there. The hot dyke from philly and I had a little chit chat about free doughnut day (which is how I found out she was from Philly).
