I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Jilli, this month's Lucky has a "Goth" trend section. I just read it. It uses the phrase "spooky-alluring" to describe a cameo on a ribbon as a bracelet.

Oh lord. I'll have to remember to look at it the next time I'm in a bookstore.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. Matilda has now layered three hoodies on top of each other.

She looks like a fashionable hunchback.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Woohoo for Erin's new job!

Barb is a beautiful woman in a beautiful dress.

The know-it-all on one of my Regency lists just treated me to a lecture on...wait for it...the Duke of Wellington. Was it anything I didn't already know? Oh, hells no. I know I'm not wearing a sign that says, "Wellington Expert," but I had mentioned in that very thread that I'd read so many Wellington bios that I'd internalized his and his family's history. And you'd think she'd eventually notice what the other group regulars know well.

ETA that sounds cattier than I meant it to--really, I'm laughing, and wishing I could post a picture of my research library to that loop.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

So, came home to a scary thing. Apparently the rug at my front door caught in the door on my way out this morning so I came home to find my front door propped open. Little scary coming in.

yay Erin. I have some old journalism books if you want to borrow.

Yanks lost on walk off grand slam. Sad. Now stuck in traffic. 30 min and still not on freeway.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Barb, you're gorgeous. I love color of that dress on you.

Since Hec mentioned hoodies, Isaac was talking yesterday in that way toddlers do where they create some internal universe and then describe it to you. Anyway he was saying "yes because he wears a hoodie because it's so cold on the moon. That's how cold it is," and I thought poor little LA boy thinks that hoodie = cold weather.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Eeek, Vortex. I hope that no one else noticed your door.

Yay, job for Erin!

Get better, Ginger, really quickly.

Barb, you were entirely lickable in that dress.

You realize that Matilda is really likely to develop a thing for older guys, don't you? I sooooo looked up to my oldest brother....

am home now. Boy that heat is something, even at night. Close to two hours to get home. Double whammy of construction closures, and one of the roadways closed due to major accident. Oy.

Oh, and a ~ma request. I went to the game with my boss, and his boss. We all survived working at old job place. Anyhow, half way thru the game he gets a page. His 8 yo daughter broke her arm doing a cart wheel. The family is supposed to go on holiday to the coast. The coast that is bracing for a hurricane. Ya, he has a lot of luck right now. Unfortunetly it's all bad. Anyhow, some Buffista~ma couldn't hurt for them.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Lillian and Isaac need to get together again and hang. They could share universe information!

I'm trying to map hers. It's kind of complicated. And seems to center around things that happened once, when she was a girl construction worker, and the jaguars didn't think she was a tasty snack.

(There's so much construction near her daycare that, err, we've taken to Construction Worker Watching, describing their plumage and habitats. She's constantly on the lookout. "Are there construction workers there? Way up high off in the distance?")

Ooh, Vortex, that is such a scary thing to get home to!! Did you walk in, or did you call someone? Did you realize right away that it was the rug??
