Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Whoo hoo for Dean's List! That's awesome! And no, it is NOT diminished by being from "just" a Community college. It is as excellent an achievement as it would be from any school during any year/semester that your sacrificed your brain to!

Hey Hivemind, what do we think of this vest thingie? [link]

(The clothing line calls it a "bustier", but they are obviously wrong.) I like it (oooh, stripey!), and am trying to decide if I want to find one in b&w, or in black & grey.

It looks a bit short. I mean, you'd probably be wearing something under it, but it seems to be made for the midriff baring crowd. Not that you couldn't bare your midriff, it just doesn't seem to be your cup of tea.

Oh, I'd be wearing it over a blouse. And yes, it's a bit short in those photos, but my past experience with Lip Service bodices/vests/bustiers is that they're designed to be midriff-baring for people who AREN'T freakishly short-waisted like I am. So it would probably hit right at my waist.

Striiiipey. I know I should just show it to Pete and ask for his thoughts, but I'm pretty sure he'd roll his eyes and go "ugh".

Actually, I think it'd be too tight at the hips for you, and frankly, if they can't get it to fit without huge wrinkles in their promo photos what likelihood is there that it'll look any better on a real person? To see what I mean look how much it wrinkles on the side panels.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Thanks, Nora!

The vest is cute, but would obviously require jilli-izing. (And I vote black and white, the black and grey seems too...businessy, or something). I couldn't seem to get an actual price. Is it reasonable for an accessory/accent piece, since you presumably wouldn't wear it as just a top?

But I wants a stripey vest! I needs more stripey clothes!

(All of you are laughing at me, aren't you? I can tell.)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I'm actually agreeing with Pete, Jilli. It wouldn't fit me right at all, which means it won't fit you. (I'm basing this off of our sharing The Jacket and the vesty thingy that's... kind of on order, yes?)

However, something like that made to your specifications? Would be awesome and you should have it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

All of you are laughing at me, aren't you?

Nah, I think it's pretty much a law of the universe that Jilli Needs More Stripey Clothes.
