(am suddenly struck with the urge to build a batty lamp).
Thanks Pete and Jilli.
I should be in bed, but the dog needed to go out and tomorrow is garbage pick-up day and my meds were on my desk... temptingly near the keyboard.
Edit: really going to bed now, but Jilli, look at this! [link]
Oh, now
that's
adorable. And not pricey!
(pssst...HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, DEENA!)
Happy Belated Birthday, Deena!
Happy Belated Birthday, Deena!
The internet is
extremely
expensive on this ship, so I will only be popping in briefly each day to check my email. ND and I will be dark gray all week. We're having a good time so far, though we're both working (I've had to dart online, download the online class forums for one student, log off, read and respond to that student, log on, send feedback email, download the next student, log off, lather, rinse repeat). Hugs and hairpats to all.
The Rejuvenation lights are incredibly well-made (and a breeze to install), even if Pete finds that one impossibly garish. Which it is, but appropriate for the time period. I swear they used to say exactly *where* the original light was from in the catalogs, but now there's just the when (1892). You really need an over-the-top Queen Anne or Gothic Victorian with high ceilings and heavy wallpaper to pull it off.
Sadly, their stuff other than that one really skews too Arts and Crafts for my late-Victorian house (though they have a newish collection of mid-century modern stuff that caused me to do a doubletake when I first saw it, because my parents' house has the originals of some of it).
Today seems to be wait-on-hold-hell day.
I am in northern Michigan, relaxing with family and trying to battle off a cold/sore throat. It started coming on yesterday, and while the sharp soreness in it throat has subsided somewhat, it's still scratchy back there, and I have a bit of runny nose, coughing and sneezing. Feh.
Feel better, Sean! You're not supposed to get sick on vacation!
So, what do we think of this skirt for meeting CBD's parents? [link]
