Up until the punching, it was a real nice party.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The world will still be there when you're done.

Yes, this is the good news and the bad news. Take care of you!

Juliana and I get there Thursday afternoon and leave Saturday afternoon.

Ooooh. I may be able to do dinner with y'all Thursday night!! I'm there Thursday daytime working, and my flight doesn't leave until like, 8:30PM. But I won't be working that late, clearly, it was just that was the flight options...

Our wings are not tired

It's just a perfect storm of stress right now. Mom's regular caregiver ended up working 35 days straight due to Dad's sudden illness. The caregiver has also had a nasty cough that she hasn't had a chance to get looked at. We have hired another company to do caregiving with a CNA two days a week so that there's 7 days of coverage and our regular one gets a regular break. This week is the first of that. Yesterday was the first day and the regular caregiver was here in the morning to show the new one where things are. Then, it was just me and the regular caregiver. After we got mom to bed, it's just me overnight, and then a caregiver should be arriving any moment. Since this was a rush to get our regular caregiver a break, we have another different one from the agency today. Only, no regular here today, just me. My sister flew back to Houston yesterday so that she has a few days to get things in order and then she's moving out here essentially permanently.

I'm just stressed. Mom pretty much needs a full assist to do anything, moving in and out of bed, to a chair, to a commode, etc. This is worsened by the fact that she's overweight so it's a difficult full assist.

Our regular caregiver is an amazing woman who's been working here for more than a year and just knows how to get everything done. I'm clueless at least half the time. This is also worsened by the fact that work like doing the assisted moves and helping clean mom up is about as far out of my comfort zone as it gets. I can mask it really well so mom doesn't know, but yeah. Tough.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

ND, you may not feel ready for another day; however, I know you can do it.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Oh, ND. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.

I'm good at many things. This type of work is not one of them.
