Come on out, River. The nice man wants to kidnap you.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

I'm not sure if I should be more amused by the faith you all have in me, or concerned by my reputation.

Dude, both, of course.

Don't laugh too much, it's now your reputation by association.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

K should get you a job at her school.

I'm now envisioning a school with an all-Buffista teaching staff, and it is truly awesome.

(And, while we're on that dream, do y'all need a fencing coach and an instructional technologist?)

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

It's abusive, the way they treat you.

It's comforting that Hub and I aren't the only ones who seem to think so. The school seems to be of the opinion that if I don't like it I can just quit. They seem to think there are dozens of people ready to take my spot. However, the school can't seem to keep any kind of teachers (we have 7 openings right now).

One of the other 2 high schools in the county has an opening for a Drama teacher; but, the program blows. They have had 5 teachers in 10 years and the kids think they run the program. It really wouldn't improve anything to transfer. The 7 of 8 schedule would stay the same as would English classes.

In a year and a half one of my mentors will retire. He is at a community college in Ocala (40 min drive). He would love to see me take his place and has said I'll get his recommendation and reference. It's a long time to wait, though, and there is no guarantee I'll get the job when the time comes.

I'd maybe renew my certificate for that.

::ponders dealing with parents and the fact that she does not play well with others::

Okay, could I maybe just be novelist in residence or just the eccentric buddy or sumtin' like that?

GG, you deserve to be somewhere better, and believe me I've been trying to plot ways to get you to LA. You've been on the other end of the country for far. too. long.

K should get you a job at her school. We'll work something out for your husband. No really. We will.

And this is one of the many reasons why I love you guys so much.

I'm now envisioning a school with an all-Buffista teaching staff, and it is truly awesome.
