Bryn Mawr = Guilford

Wayne = Homewood

Swarthmore = Homewood

Fairmount/Art Museum = Bolton Hill

Society Hill, Rittenhouse, & Old City = really expensive

All of these are one one train line or another - www.septa.com has a great map. If they're interested in a walkable neighborhood, they can look up any of these on [link] - nearby restaurants, schools, libraries, and more are highlighted.
