Okay, I just got off the phone with Pasadena. I spoke to three different people, who essentially said "I don't know why you got the (non-applicable, generic) response you did, but here's why you got the ticket". I was like, I know why I got the ticket, will you just admit you didn't actually review what I sent you?
FYI: The fact that the permit has to be displayed right-side up on the dash with the date/time visible is written in red on the back and on a blue stripe along the side on the front. Writing the license plate number? Written in the smallest black type on the front at the bottom.
By the way, Kristin, apparently you should have gotten up at 2am to explain to me that I had to write my license plate number on the ticket because "that's clearly marked on the kiosk."
I will be requesting an administrative hearing and paying the ticket in full (as my boss said, if I don't, they're sure to tack on extra fees), but I want to also write a complaint letter about the "review" (and I will put that in quotes throughout) process and cc everyone I can think of, if only to get them to put the license plate part in red too.
Suggestions? I'm thinking the mayor, the dept of transportation, but what else? The tourist board?
