Because books.

Chows are sometimes considered to be an agressive breed. In some municipalities, they are on a controlled breed list and are put down pretty much as soon as they enter a shelter. Much like pits.

That's so weird! I had never heard that. My grandfather had a Chow he adored, and it was the sweetest dog in the world.

Twitch, the boy who's adopted us somehow. Sweetest cat in. the. world.

“Not dead yet!”

Kitties!!!! Eeeeeee!!! Kitty cuteness!

Here's Jack-Jack, looking offended. His best expression.

And yeah, Chows are considered aggressive breeds-- but here's the Big Stupid of this shelter-- they don't automatically put down the pits, because they can be easily adopted out to those of the Michael Vick school of dog ownership.

Hence, not liking people much.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Amy- So lovely! I just want to cuddle and snuzzle him.

I feel like a mom whose kid is going through adolescence. Taz is about 5, but he's spending all his time mooning over the cats next door, hardly ever hops up on the couch to snuggle with us (used to be a daily occurance) or sleeps with us. He used to come when I called him, now NSM.

I know it sounds dumb, but it makes me sad!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

So many pretty kitties!!

If I lived near you, Nora, I'd swoop into that shelter and take Atticus home with me. Such a sweet looking boy! (I love Maine Coons.)

Here's a slightly fuzzy picture of my Amarna from a few years ago. I've got to download some of the newer pics I've taken of her with the new digital camera.
