You always think harder is better. Maybe next time I patrol, I should carry bricks and use a stake made out of butter.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I've been looking at the shelter site where we got Taz and I want another kitty!!! I think Taz would like the attention.

Or do male cats get along better with female cats in a household?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Nora, males generally get along just fine as long as they're both eunuchs and have been around other cats from a reasonably young age. The real problems only tend to happen when you have intact toms (umm, other than yours, of course), or those that lost their harbls late enough in life that they've got the whole testosterony territorial asshole habit already firmly in place -- so I wouldn't take two 10-year-old ferals straight off the street, chop 'em, and expect them to get along in a confined space like socialized house cats, if you see what I'm saying.

Regardless of sex, giving them plenty of time and space to get used to each other at their own speed is probably the biggest factor in getting new cats to get along.

All the kitties are, of course, ADORABLE.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Yup. Keep 'em separated, let them get used to each other's smell, supervise them at first when they are together, etc.

Timelies, all.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Our four males are now getting along fine with each other. The female -- not so much as far as the two newest arrivals are concerned.

But that may just be Marie's personality and not typical of female cats.

And all the linked cats do look adorable.

I know Taz is good with casual encounters with other cats, even if they are hissing at him. He was like the Sammy Davis Jr of the shelter! "Ladies...Hey, how ya doing... What's going on over here?"

Also, since he's spotted our neighbor's cats (first in the window, and now they are outside) he has seemed a little lonely.

I am hoping that since the ladies at the shelter knew Taz and know the current cats, they'd be able to offer some perspective and specific/individual advice.

Barb, wow, what a beautiful girl!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Jasmine's on my rug again.

“Not dead yet!”

I know Aims-- she can't help herself. She has this odd idea that it's her rug.

Nora, Pisces is just an absolute love. The funny thing was I was the one pushing for a third dog, with the Hub going, "I don't know..."

Guess who's completely ass over teakettle for the new girl? I'm just so grateful we have her now-- it's hard to believe that she was just three hours away from being put down when she was rescued by the organization we adopted her from. Morons at the redneck run shelter thought she was a Chow, so they were automatically going to put her down.

Sometimes, I really don't like people much.

Dear Jasmine Puppy -

One day, I will drive to your house and steal that rug. However, I will be leaving you lots of Treaty McYummies and you won't notice. Bark!
