Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm HOME! OMG, I'm HOME! Of course, I have to leave again in twenty minutes, but it's to go pick up the puppies, who I have missed like WHOA and DAMN.
The cat stared at us as we trooped in, sauntered over to say hello, meowed piteously in that "You left me alone with only one human for ten days. Bastards." Purred ecstatically, then proceeded to ignore us, purring mightily the entire time.
Have I mentioned how happy I am to be back in the land of perpetual air-conditioning? And how happy I am to be going to SF next week where I don't have to worry about sweltering to death? And seeing peoples!
YAY Erin on pretty new smile. I need to have mine worked on a bit-- enamel's wearing off from the years of braces back in the day.
{{{Drew & K}}} Hope you're making it through the day, loves.
Aimee, the name of the first person to register a gun in DC: Amy McVay. She went under the radar of the newsmedia who were camped out, because she was a woman, so they didn't figure she was going in to the police station to register her gun. Cause she was a woman. OY.
all the ~ma in the world for ND, PixK, & family!!! Dunno what else to say on that. Wish there was more.
Thanks y'all. I think the worst bit was the girl who came out and bummed a smoke from G and told us how she needed to get off pot and crack because she has a daughter now who was almost a crack baby. It was just a really fucking bleak way to start off the week.
Putting it out of my brain now.
Yargh.
{{DJ}} as well, just for starting the week out that way.
Go look at the baby bats. They're much less bleak.
Holy smokes, I'm so sleepy. My post-yoga energy has dissapated completely.
Also less bleak? Gay Work Boyfriend brought in his grey poodle, Dorian, who is happily running from his desk to my desk to coworker's desk to other coworkers desk and back to Gay Work Boyfriend's desk (we have cubes that face each other and we've taken down the walls that seperate them so we can all talk), giving us all kisses.
Agh. I want to hug everyone. Vibing make-it-through-the-day~ma to ND and Kristin; and, damn, DJ, it's a horrible Monday when you're only a few hours in and the universe owes you and yours a do-over.
But I'm also smiling quiet office-appropriate smiles of happiness that connie and her sisters have reconnected, omnis got to hang out with DJ and go to a cool bar, and Erin has pretty teeth and a dimple.
I'd be perfectly happy with a Monday do-over--or, ideally, just a wayback machine with which to go back to the weekend. I instigated one major scheduling screw-up, which would be easily fixable if I could just go back to Saturday morning, and other than that the entire weekend was really lovely and full of spectacular humans.
So I need to Tivo the weekend and delete today. Can someone get right on that?
I didn't realize Mr. Jane took him to Balcony Club! That place was where Mr. Jane and I sorta decided to start dating. We'd hang out there drinking martinis and listening to a 9 fingered piano player named Big Al Dupree play old jazz tunes!
Argh. My best friend from high school is getting married in a few weeks. I hardly ever talk to her anymore, we've really lost touch. But I would love to go to her wedding. It's in Chicago. Flights are at least $350, if I take a red-eye and a day off work, and try to stay with a friend one night. I was like "OK, but I have frequent flier miles!" Only I don't have *quite* enough on Northwest, to do it, yet. And United will fly me there, but tells me there are no seats to fly me back until like, a week later. ARGH.
Guess I should just give in and pay ridiculous amounts. And then I start going "Well, if I'm paying $350, should I just pay $400 to go on the better times, or airline I like or whatever? And why does this airline want me to fly through SPOKANE???"
I am however glad the wedding is in Evanston and everything is close enough I don't need to rent a car, and I have hotel points so I can get a "free" room!!
